March is coming in like a Lion with my birthday bash, Thursday March 4th starting at 6PM at Shaws Bar & Grill in NE Minneapolis…. I feel blessed and happy so I thought it would be a good idea to give instead of receive. I contacted Minnesota Food Share and have arranged to make this a food shelf drive. I am asking that everyone bring a non perishable food item to be donated to Minnesota Food Share. They stock the shelves of local food shelves and as well as subsidizing meals at local shelters. Around 6:30 I’m excited to say that I’ll be playing an unplugged set with my long time friend and notable saxophonist, Mr Steve Clarke. I am extending the invitation to my other musician friends to come on down and join in the fun! The Butanes will take the stage at 8:30. Their smokin’ hot blend of blues, funk, jazz is guaranteed to steam up any cold March night.
Saturday March 6th Come to Floyd’s Bar in Victoria, MN and experience firsthand the Rock’n'Roll fun of Dueling Pianos … Floyd’s is great corner bar with excellent food and sinfully stiff drinks. We’ll be playing 8:30 – 12:30. Get there early the place fills up and the house will be Rockin’! http:://www.floydsbar.com/
Friday March 12th I’ll be doing a solo show at fun new club in downtown Minneapolis called Tickles. http://www.ticklesbar.com/ Show starts at 9PM. Join me for a fun interactive show that’s full of surprises. Tickles serves a full menu. Try one of their signature Martinis.
Saturday March 13th a different kind of solo show at http://livingwatersmarket.com/ Living Waters Center for Harmonious Living. A very laid back atmosphere with plenty of healthy organic foods and fresh vegie and fruit juices… This is should be groove-a-delic….
Come to one come to all… it’s fun to finally be working back at home again… Catch me while you can.. Rock on and peace to us all.

Well, back on the dueling piano circuit going hither and yon across the country, working with some of the best players in the biz and having a great time doing it. If you haven’t been out to a dueling piano show you’re missing some major fun.
It’s all request, all the time and always a guaranteed good time. Bring your friends or make some new ones. One things for certain, you’ll walk out smiling. I guess that’s why I love doing it.

Well, you may not have heard of it but this is the most incredible island I’ve had the pleasure of visiting/working in ever…. this is what they say” nature’s best kept secret.”
I am working at a family owned business called simply “the Rock” and rocks there are aplenty all over this beautiful island… not a chain store in sight and all of the businesses are owned and ran by people that live right here… I am so lucky to get this chance to experience living here for this time…
I’ve been here almost three weeks and already I know so many peole that when I venture out to go the market or simply on a drive to one of the pristine beaches here I have people waving hello or stopping to chat and ask how things are going.
These are the British Virgin Islands and they have been so smart about keeping this place the way nature made it… hillsides without a house in sight beaches you can go to and have all to yourself and the locals are so friendly and have quickly accepted me and made me a part of the fabric of this amzing life they have here.
If any of you want to experience a Caribbean island that is unspoiled, come here… no McDon’s or Target, no drive thru’s… oh yeah you drive on the left side of the road…. and the markets get a shipment twice a week so you know when to go when the shelves are full… otherwise , you make do.
I don’t even know how to begin to describe how brilliant the stars are at night or the way the moon lights up the sea… the fish I get to swim with every day,the people that come to sing with me and dance the night away… lots of smiles and laughter…
Go to my facebook page and check out photos that I am posting… great gig, wonderful people… and as I continue to say… what a life! I will cry when I leave here and pray that I will get to come back…
Peace and a joyous holiday season to all of you… thanks for being there.

Daina De Prez began performing at dueling piano bars in the early 1990s. She says, “The concept just blew me away. It was so spontaneous, and so much about the audience, I knew it was something I would be good at and like to do.”
She spent four years at Lil’ Ditty’s at Mall of America in Minnesota. And she’s most recently been performing at some of the hottest dueling piano bars in the USA. Says Daina, “I’ve managed to rack up a lot of dueling piano miles.”
The vocal comparison to Janis Joplin has followed Daina around for a long time. She does some Joplin tunes, and does them well. She’s always been a rocker and loves the old and the new—including repertoire from Bonnie Raitt, Tina Turner, Annie Lennox, Dido, Bon Jovi, the Police, 3 Doors Down, Train, Gwen Stefani, Gretchen Wilson, Journey, Styx, Reba McIntyre, the Beatles, Sublime, Oasis, Patsy Cline, Garth and Madonna.
Adds Daina, “Pretty much you name it, I’ve done it. And am always picking up new material.
“I love flying by the seat of my pants, not knowing what’s up next and making it work anyway. I love to laugh and to make people laugh.”
